The location of the new children’s hospital is expected to top the agenda when Cabinet ministers have their weekly meeting this morning.
A leaked report by an expert group advising the government recommends locating the facility on the grounds of St James Hospital in Dublin.
The Dolphin report suggests St James’ has the broadest range of specialties – but other sites like the Coombe and Connolly offer more scope for expansion.
