A jury’s heard a District Court judge was visibly upset, blanched and had to sit down when gardaí  informed her last July that she was to be charged with deception.

The prosecution has now finished calling evidence against former solicitor Heather Perrin of Lambay Court, Malahide, Dublin who denies deceiving pensioner Thomas Davis into leaving half his estate to her children on January 22nd 2009.

In interviews last year, Heather Perrin put it to gardaí  that Thomas Davis niece might be behind the deception allegations, unhappy that her share of her uncle’s 1 million euro estate was to be diluted.

The solicitor who was appointed to the bench in 2009  denies tricking the pensioner and said he had asked her to change his will so that her children would share in his estate because he was unhappy with how his nieces were spending money.

When asked why Mr Davis denied this, she said she couldn’t explain but he and his wife were in their 80s and may have forgotten.

The court’s heard when gardaí  called out to Heather Perrin on July 13th last and informed her she was to be charged, she was visibly upset, blanched and had to sit down.
