The Public Accounts Committee will today publish its report on public sector allowances.
It follows a two-month consultation period with a range of bodies on the level of allowances paid to their staff.
The report is expected to make particular recommendations about TDs’ expenses and allowances, and propose the levels should be set by an independent group.
Ahead of the report’s publication, the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Brendan Howlin, will face questions from the Finance Committee on his progress in cutting costs.
