Officials at Shannon Airport say they’re hopeful of more positive announcements in the coming weeks and months, following Aer Lingus’ announcement of a new route from the Mid West.

The former flag carrier has announced that it will operate three weekly flights to Faro from March of next year, boosting overall passenger numbers by 20 thousand.

It follows other positive announcements in recent weeks regarding flights to Turkey and the US, and management at the Airport say efforts are continuing to follow this up with further good news for next year AND the year after.
