Limerick councillors slammed over lack of contact with Clare counterparts

Councillors in Limerick have been accused of ‘dithering’ on proposals to hold regular meetings with their counterparts in South East Clare.

Elected representatives in East Clare last year called for joint meetings to be held with Councillors of the East Ward of Limerick City, which borders with the Banner County, but nearly 18 months later no formal response has been issured.

Similar meetings are already held with representatives of the Nenagh Electoral Area of Tipperary, where issues relating to both sides of the border are discussed.

Fianna Fail Councillor Cathal Crowe is calling on the Limerick City Councillors to enter into a similar process.
