The trial of a former Killaloe GP accused of defrauding the families of terminally ill cancer patients is expected to get underway today.
63 year old Pascal Carmody of Ballycuggeran is facing a total of nine charges of obtaining over 16 thousand euro by falsely claiming that he could cure their loved ones through Photodynamic Therapy
The deception charges relate to the treatment of two now deceased patients, at East Clinic, Killaloe on dates between 2001-2002
The case is due before Ennis Circuit Court today with a jury expected to be sworn in before the trial gets underway proper .
