The European Central Bank is leaving its main interest rate at a historic low of 0.75 percent.
The decision was taken at its last policy meeting of 2012 today.
ECB watchers were NOT expecting the central bank to ease borrowing costs in the euro area this month, as such a move would likely have little effect on the region’s recession-hit economy.
