The Mayor of Ennis has urged everyone to get behind plans for an independent Shannon Airport, saying it’s critical for the local economy and employment in the town.
Ennis Fianna Fail Councillor Peter Considine has expressed confidence in the new direction for Shannon which will see it leave Dublin Airport Authority Control on December 31st with a new company to run the airport and it’s surrounding industrial zones from mid-2013.
Councillor Considine is also hoping threatened industrial action won’t happen at Shannon following assurances on job security from the government, and feels the new plans are financially viable
