The PSNI has confirmed that three police officers were injured and eight people were arrested in a fifth consecutive night of violence in Belfast last night.
Petrol bombs, fireworks and heavy masonry was thrown at police officers and vehicles were attacked with hatchets and sledge hammers as water cannon was deployed to quell the violence.
The protests are over the restricting of the flying of the union flag at Belfast City Hall
