100 new jobs at Vistakon

The Mid West is set for a jobs boost.

Vistakon Ireland – which manufactures contact lenses is creating 100 new jobs at its plant in Plassy in Limerick .

The subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson – is also set to announce an expansion of the site – which currently employs 650 people.

Job’s Minister Richard Bruton will visit the company later this morning to announce the positions.

Meanwhile up to 400 new jobs are also expected to be announced for the region later this month.

Its reported that the positions will be created by new state water company – Uisce Eireann – at a call centre at the site of the former Dell plant in Raheen.
