Clare has been allocated an additional 40 places under a community work placement initiative.
Social Protection Minister Joan Burton has made the announcement, which pertains to the ‘Tús’ scheme, and brings to 160 the total number of places in the county administered by the Clare Local Development Company.
Tús was introduced in July 2011 and to date 7,400 people nationwide have commenced 12 months’ work with local development companies.
Participants are paid a 20 euro top up in addition to their existing Jobseekers’ Allowance.
