The connections to Clare of former US Ambassador to Ireland, Jean Kennedy Smith, have been remembered.
Warm tributes have been paid to the 92-year-old, with President Higgins recognising her work in the peace process in Nothern Ireland.

She was also a frequent visitor to Clare, and a friend to Lahinch-based Austin Slattery.
He’s paid tribute to his friend of 25 years.
