Shannon Largely Escapes Weather Disruption

A number of flights were diverted to Shannon Airport last evening, and flights from Dublin and Cork will be affected today by stormy conditions which hit much of the country.

While services are operating with minor delays at Shannon this morning, flights have been cancelled at the two other state airports following gale force winds of up to 130 kilometres per hour.

The DAA says passengers should check with their airline before travelling to the airport while ferry crossings on the Irish Sea have been cancelled.

Motorists are advised to be wary of debris on roads, though Clare Gardai report few problems here in the county.
