There’s a large Clare representation at the Fianna Fail Ard Fheis this weekend, with two Ennis members competing for a say on the ruling Ard Comhairle, and a former Clare Green Councillor also joining the republican party.

Brian Meaney is likely to be the newest party member at the RDS as he was accepted into the Fianna Fail just over a week ago, having resigned from the Greens earlier this month.

Controversial issues like health services in Ennis and the possibility of fracking in West Clare are up for debate while Ennis members Garrett Greene and Eoin Neylon will contest for a position on the Committee of 20 group, which is a key element of the party’s ruling Ard Comhairle.

26 year old Mr Neylon – who’s established a London branch of Fianna Fail after he emmigrated for work there  – says he’d like to see more young people in politics
