The motor industry claims over 70 jobs could be created in Clare if the government listens to its calls for a ‘swappage scheme’.
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry wants the Finance Minister to use next month’s budget to announce a 2000 euro reduction in VRT for anyone trading in a car 6 years or older.
The say this would create 2,200 jobs across Ireland, including 73 here in Clare.
