Fears for Further Downgrades at Ennis General

A Clare health campaigner has expressed concern that services at Ennis General Hospital could be further downgraded because required facilities are not in place.

Nurses have reported long queues at University Hospital Limerick’s Accident and emergency Department in recent weeks, and said the situation there was made worse by the closure of the Medical Assessment Unit in Ennis for a number of days.

It was shut for three-and-a-half days from January 6th because a doctor was off sick, and Clare Councillors say the situation wasn’t good enough.
