A Kilrush Fine Gael Councillor is to seek election to Clare County Council as an independent.
In a statement to Clare FM, Councillor Ian Lynch has said it’s time for new blood in local politics, while he also calls for West and North Clare to move forward as one unit after both areas were merged into one electoral area for the vote in May.
Councillor Lynch was elected to Kilrush Town Council in 2009, and served as Mayor of the town last year.
