Over 100 elderly and disabled people in Clare, who have already applied for money to fund upgrade works on their homes this year, are set to have their applications refused.
Clare County Council has confirmed that it has just over 1.6 million euro to spend on three separate schemes aimed at helping people stay in their own properties.
This includes 320,000 euro from the Council's own resources, and the Council says the money is expected to fund between 250 and 300 applications.
However, 435 applications have already been made for Housing Adaptations and for Mobility Aid and Housing Aid Grants.
