Ireland is to provide an additional €120,00 euro in funding in response to the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa.

It brings the total Irish aid in the current crisis to €350,000 euro.

Nearly 900 people have so far died from the virus, while two American aid workers infected with Ebola are being treated in hospital in the US.

However, one Clareman says he is remaining in West Africa to co-ordinate the efforts of one Irish charity.

Inagh native Damien Queally is working with Plan Ireland in Senegal, and has told Clare FM that many aid workers in the region are worried, but determined to stay on.
