An Irish Coast Guard helicopter was reportedly targeted by a laser while taking part in a search for a missing family in South-East Clare this week.
The family of five were located safe and sound in Cratloe Woods on Monday night after a search operation involving a number of agencies, including the Shannon-based rescue helicopter.
However, reports this morning say the chopper was targeted several times by a laser which appeared to be coming from the Cratloe area.
The crew told controllers that the laser was pointed at them for two minutes on one occasion, and that Gardaí have been informed.
