Anyone planning on enjoying the next few days near beaches or coastal areas is being urged to wear high visibility clothing.
Irish Water Safety has issued the appeal, saying a hi-vis vest or jacket will make it much easier for emergency services to locate you if you get into difficulty.
The organisation has offered a number of pieces of advice for this time of year and is urging you to always carry a mobile phone, when going out and about near water.
