The head of Irish Rail's revealed plans to bring trains directly to Dublin Airport for the first time.

Chief Executive, David Franks, says he wants to lay new tracks for intercity trains from Cork, Galway and Belfast.

It's estimated the upgrade would cost around €300 million and could be built in less than five years.

Once finished it would be capable of carrying three million airport passengers each year – but the plans have not been approved by the Government yet.
