The Superintendent of the Ennis Garda District says the area is one of the few locations to see an increase in the number of people caught for drink driving.
181 incidents were recorded in the county in 2014 – up 21 from the previous year.
Gardaí here, say they are disappointed at the increase – but that it also goes to show the level of check points that are in place across the county.
