Underage hurling chairman concerned over possible end to hurling board

The possible abolition of the two underage gaa boards has been described as a blow for democracy by the head of Bord na nOg Iomaint.

Martin Reynolds was speaking at last night’s agm which could be the board’s last if new proposals from the gaa are approved at central congress next Spring.

The Clarecastle man told Clare FM that the loss of the boards will not be good for the county:

The meeting heard that the board also wish to change the dates of the U14 and U16 hurling championship which will be discussed at the January meeting.

The motion from Wolfe Tones regarding Feile was not carried as the executive decided it would b upto the teams competing at U14 a level to decided how the national representative

At last night’s agm the clubs of the year were also announced with Kilmaley named the A club of the year,Inagh kilnanona picking up the B award and Whitegate took home the C honours.
