Morning Focus – Monday 09/10/17

The Monday edition of Morning Focus got off to a lively start with a mix of hard-hitting news, views and a celebration of Clare FM’s achievement at the IMRO Awards in Kilkenny on Friday night.

The show opened with an update from Kate Duggan, Head of Primary Care with the HSE Midwest, on the situation where up to 43 children came into contact with drain cleaning fluid while being treated at a clinic in Ennis.

The show then heard about the troubling issue of sexual violence in intimate relationships. Gavin spoke with Johnny O’Rourke, the manager of Clare Haven. Then there were celebrations for Clare FM when Gavin was joined in studio by Susan Murphy Executive Director/General Manager and Padraic Flaherty, Programme Director/Head of Operations. Listen back below:

As the tourist season in Clare winds down, Gavin had a wide ranging discussion of the issue with operators from around the county. These included Trea Heaps, John Burke, Mike Hogan and Orla Vaughan.

Mary Cashin of Cashin and Co Solicitors, Ennis, then joined Gavin in studio to chat about Mediation Week 2017.
