The Irishshop.com  – formerly The Record Rack – at Lower Market Street in Ennis has closed it doors after 30 years of trading. Owners David and Eileen had rebranded and revised their business many times in recent years hoping to rebuild after recession, and say while customers are now out shopping again, they're not spending the money required to keep small businesses like their's viable. David and Eillen were in studio to talk their business with Gavin

Cllrs in Ennis have been told the Sisters of Mercy in the town are irrate that their donation of land for Friars Walk hasn't been acknowledged. Cllr Paul Murphy says he's been approached by a number of Nuns who say they are very upset that the two acres they donated several years ago is not recognised. He's called for the Walkway to be renamed Bóthar na Trócaire – however that hasn't received Ennis Municipal District backing. Members of the local authority now hope to meet with the Sisters of Mercy to find a solution.  Cllr Murphy and Sister Canis from the Sisters of Mercy spoke to Gavisn about the issue.

China hotel executives have traveled to internationally renowned Shannon College of Hotel Management to learn the ‘Irish way’ of hospitality. China’s long held interest in the Shannon region deepened again last week as 10 executives of a leading hotel group in the Far East travelled to learn the ‘Irish way’ of hotel-keeping. The senior Gloria Hotels & Resorts Group executives spent a week undergoing an intensive course at the internationally renowned Shannon College of Hotel Management, which has educated some of the leading hoteliers in the world. Phillip Smith  Director of the Shannon College of Hotel Management  spoke to Gavin about he initative.

ICSA will meet mediator Michael Dowling later today as part of the current phase of intensive negotiations on the beef crisis. ICSA's key demands are  Price increase, Abolition of 30-month limit , Realistic‎ age and weight limits for bulls from the suckler herd,  End to current residency four movements requirement and a quality assurance bonus for every animal from a quality assured farm. Eddie Punch  Cratloe farmer and general  secetary  of ICSA and  Andrew Dundass chair IFA Clare spoke to Gavin ahead of todays protests and meetings.

Cratloe have qualified for a first ever Munster Club Hurling Final after beating Thurles Sarsfields  yesterday afternoon.  The game was full of talking points, but Cratleo prevailed on a final score-line of  1-18 to 0-14. They now contest the Munster Club Final on Sunday November 23rd, where they will face Ger Sparrow O'Loughlin and his Kilmallock side after they beat Sarsfields after extra time by 3-22 to 3-20. The Clare Great War Remembrance Service will take place in St Peter and Paul Cathedral, Ennis at 7:30pm on Tuesday 11th November Peter is keynote speaker at the event.. Peter Murtagh journalist with the Irish Times and Great War Historian spoke with Gavin pripor to his key note speaker address at the event.
