A senior member of Ennis Town Council has hit out at "Prada-wearing Travellers", Frankie Neylon agreed with Paul O’Shea’s motion at Ennis Town Council on Monday that any Travellers convicted of being involved in feuds should have their social welfare entitlements withdrawn.
This was discussed by Ennis Town Councillors Paul O’Shea and Frankie Neylon and Martin Collins – Spokesperson for Pavee Point

Clare County Council says it removed the stranded whale from a North Clare beach which has been the focus of a countywide search for many days
The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group had appealed for the public to contact them with information on the mammal, which was reported stranded on Liscannor beach last month but then mysteriously vanished
Descriptions of the whale and it’s long tusk have led scientists to believe it is of the narwhal variety, which had previously not been discovered in Irish waters
But speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus today – The Council’s Environment Officer Betty Devaney revealed the carcass was removed and destroyed for public health reasons

The report of the Regional Authorities on the implementation of the 2010 Planning and Development (Amendment) Act in tackling previously excessive and uncoordinated zoning
She says planning has a vital role to play in our economic recovery, the planning process is the focus of much discussion and debate at present for both good and bad reasons- Needless to say, the publication of the Mahon Tribunal’s findings have significantly heightened the importance of not only ensuring but demonstrating that Ireland’s planning system is open, transparent and compliant with legal requirements.

On October 15th Declan O’Shea was in an accident while on holidays in Portugal, seriously injuring his spine
He had emergency surgery and spent the next four weeks in hospital in Portugal before returning to Ireland where he spent the subsequent four weeks in the Spinal Injuries Unit of the Mater Hospital in Dublin
Declan is currently undergoing treatment at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire- due to return home shortly
The medical prognosis at the moment is that Declan will be wheelchair dependent
Due to the nature of Declan’s injuries he will have on-going medical treatment needs and “The Declan O’Shea Trust” has been established to provide him with assistance in this regard
Clive Kelly has been Declan’s best mate since they were 10 years of age- he spoke with John about the Declan O’Shea Trust and their fundraiser planned for this weekend
Tractor Run from Kilmihil GAA grounds on Sunday – Registration 12pm, run starting at 1pm- all are welcome.
 
Paul O’Brien of the Kilrush Historical Society explained how they are currently undertaking a project to clean, record and preserve the graves at the Church of Ireland graveyard, Grace St. Kilrush this weekend
Some of the graves date to the early 1700’s
Also on the site are the remains of a 12th century chapel – reputed to be the church that Kilrush took its name from
They are hoping people will come along and volunteer
