John Cooke was joined by Shannon’s new CEO Neil Pakey for a chat about the airport’s future.

Up to 100 new jobs are on the way for Shannon Airport following the announcement of extra services from Aer Lingus
From next year, Clare’s International Airport will have daily flights to New York and Boston as Aer Lingus resumes it’s year round services and increases frequency through the leasing of two new planes
The former state airline announced new services from Shannon and Dublin yesterday and Aer Lingus spokesman Declan Carney spoke with John about their plans.

Atlantic Air Venture is an aviation learning hub based in Shannon town – where it’s founders Eddie Ryan and Jane McGill aim to inform, teach and entertain visitors with the history of aviation, the centre also hosts an impressive collection of aircraft and memorabilia
Apart from a visitor centre Atlantic Air Venture is also an accredited training facility for would be pilots – they are home to a Boeing 737 -800 NG flight simulator – where future pilots have the opportunity to test their natural flying abilities in the cockpit – without the fear of crashing!
Clare FM’s Máire Moynahan paid a visit to the centre this week to meet Eddie Ryan and Jane McGill – and while Eddie spoke about the rich aviation history in Shannon, Jane offered Maire the opportunity to learn to fly a Boeing 737.

Ennis musician and singer songwriter Siomha Brock and musician Eoghan Judge joined John for a chat and some music ahead of a gig they are playing in Glor, Ennis this Saturday night
