Ballymaley based TTM Healthcare Group yesterday announced a major expansion of its Irish and international operations, creating 100 new jobs as part of a €5 million investment in its business.  The majority of the jobs will be located in Ennis, Co. Clare but some will also support TTM's office in Cork, Dublin, London, Preston and Berlin.TTM Healthcare was founded in Co. Clare in 2002 by CEO Brian Crowley.  Based on continued growth both domestically and internationally, the company is now expanding its operations with an investment of €5 million supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland. Brian joined John to discuss the exciting new jobs announcement.

As part of his engagements in Clare yesterday, Taoiseach Enda Kenny addressed around 250 business representatives at a Shannon Chamber Lunch in Dromoland Castle, performed the official opening of Genworth's new Headquarters in West Park in Shannon and confirmed those 100 new jobs at TTM Healthcare in Ballymaley. There he was met by a small group of water protestors – around 50 in totals – though he didn't meet with them or address them. Clare FM joined the Taoiseach on his visit to Clare.

Minister James Reilly is to Launch the Plain English Children's Rights Guide.The first ever to comprehensively outline the rights of children and young people in Ireland. Jointly published by the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) and the Children's Rights Alliance, 'Know Your Rights – The Rights of Children and Young People' explains in plain language the rights of children and young people under various areas of law and practice in Ireland. It is the first guide of its kind which seeks to comprehensively and accessibly outline the rights of children and young people in Ireland. It has been awarded a Plain English mark by the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA). Tanya Ward CEO of the Children's Rights Alliance joined John to discuss the publication of the guide.

More than half of next year's Leaving Certificate students are feeling unprepared to complete the CAO application form for college entry. One in four current sixth-year students reported never having had one-to-one consultation with a career guidance teacher, according to a recent survey. Fiona Christie an Ennis based Guidance Counsellor and Founding member of Clare Branch of the institute of Guidance Counsellors spoke to John about the research and on-going problems in relation to Guidance Counsellors availability. 

Clare ISPCA Warden Frankie Coote was joined by Beverly Truss of theHogsprickle, a sanctuary for injured hogs in our regular Tuesday animal welfare section this morning. Beverly outlined the workings of the hogsprickle with John.
