Broadcast live from the Sky Studio in Shannon, this morning’s show considered the proposed community space ‘The Venue’ as well as celebrating sixty years of The Shannon Free Zone. Also, we heard about concerns over Clare policing and got financial advice from Tommy Corbett.

At the top of the show, Gavin Grace was joined by three guests to debate the issue of the Shannon venue. The guests were Cllr Mike McKee, SF member of Shannon MD and general election candidate; Cllr Gerry Flynn Independent member of Shannon MD and Derek Barrett Chairperson of the board of the Shannon Venue.

Rumours that the Clare and Galway Garda divisions will be amalgamated have recently had local representatives concerned, Clare FM’s James Mulhall attended a special meeting on the topic and caught up with Assistant Garda Commissioner for the Southern Region Anne-Marie McMahon.

The Shannon Free Zone will turn 60 this year, remaining the biggest employment hub in the country. Gavin spoke to Managing Director of Shannon Commercial Properties, Ray O’Driscoll; Chief Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover Ireland, Paul Girr and John Drysdale Business Development Manager IASC.

Lastly, Gavin spoke to Emma Barrett, who will represent Ireland at the Special Olympics World Games. She will be travelling to Abu Dhabi and Dubai to compete in three events. Gavin also caught up with Ollie Gleeson, who is helping to organise a table quiz fundraiser for Emma’s adventure.
