On Wednesdays Morning Focus, Donald Trump has bought the resort at Doonbeg.  John spoke to his Son Eric about the Trump Organisations plans for the business.  Eric spoke about  his immediate plans for the The Lodge and Golf Club at Doonbeg which is now called Trump International Golf Links Ireland.

 

Joe Russell General Manager of the Lodge at Doonbeg spoke to John about the new owners and the excitement among staff about take over by the Trump Organisation.  Joe also spoke about the positive changes ahead for the business.

 

Some locals up next about their thoughts on the Doonbeg Sale.  Tommy Tubridy of Tubirdy's Bar in Doonbeg, Caroline Kennedy of The Igoe Inn, Doonbeg, Tommy Comerford of Doobeg Fisherman's Association and local festival organiser and Tony Prender the man that originally owned the land where the golf club now stands.  All are delighted that Trump is on the way.

 

Paula McNamara from Ennis and Dr. Billy O'Connell a GP in Miltown Malbay spoke you John about the launch of the 'Know My Number' campaign.  This is a leaflet to keep in your home which will direct emergency services to your home using GPS to allow them to get to the house quicker. 

 

Finlay Duncan, Journalist with Northsound Radio, Aberdeen, Scotland had a chat with John about how Donald Trump has been received in Scotland.  He is involved in a dispute in Aberdeen over a wind farm near his property.

 

Up next Chairman of, Ennistymon IFA Pat O’Donoghue spoke to John about a protest last night outside a meeting of the board of Clare Marts.  Farmers in the area still haven’t been told if the mart has been sold.  25 people showed up to the protest last night.  Farmers say they want answers.  Clare Marts have made no comment.
