On The Afternoon Show today, our weekly panel tackled the topical stories of the week. Bernadette Kenny, a counsellor and proprietor of Tara Healing Arts in Ennis, Clare FM presenter and musician, Brian Flynn and Director of Clare Crusaders Ann Norton joined Gavin Grace in studio to talk about; Bankers Pay and do we trust our banks? We’ve seen people in mortgage arrears being asked to give up some of their luxuries, and here the government has insisted our savings won’t be taxed as was proposed in Cyprus.  Do people believe these re-assurances, and is the situation getting better, or have we lost faith altogether. Also on today’s agenda – how the Irish Heart Foundation has called for a sugar tax on sweet drinks to combat obesity – they say it will improve peoples’ health, and make money for the government, but is it a step too far?

Philip Moreau, our resident Gardening Expert and Horticulturist from Glenbrook Nurseries in Tuamgraney also joined the show to answer all your gardening questions – on flowers, shrubs, trees and everything in between.  If you have a query for Philip – email [email protected] or text Clare FM followed by your question for Philip to 53030

Erina McSweeney is a Cardio Nutritionist and Nutritional Therapist, who is particularly interested in how correct nutrition can lead to optimum health and disease prevention. She joined Gavin in studio to answer your queries in relation to heart health. Nutritional therapy is the application of nutritional science in the promotion of optimum health, peak performance and disease prevention. Erina will be in Open Sesame, Ennis tonight from 7pm

Eoin Hand, former Ireland Manager was also a guest of The Afternoon Show to talk about tonight’s match where Ireland take on Sweden.
