Featuring on The Afternoon Show today was Brian O’Neill of the Rowan Tree Café Bar and Chairman of promote Ennis, Joe Queally from the RNLI and Trea Heapes from Pure Camping in Querrin on Loop Head.  All three joined Gavin Grace in studio this afternoon as part of our Friday Panel. Up for discussion today was the government’s two year anniversary. The panel talked about what they would like to see from them in the next 12 months and what changes or improvements we need here in Co. Clare.  They focussed on tourism potential in Loop Head and the Burren as well as extending the attraction for tourists to all year round rather than just Spring and Summer. They also talked about rural Ireland and how it is faring in terms of employment, international women’s day, mother’s day and Seachtain na Gaeilge 2013.

Stylist Tess Purcell was in studio for her monthly style and fashion feature. Today she focussed on
Communion and Confirmation wear etc today as we’re nearing the season. Joining her was
Hazel McMahon – Miss Clare 2012.  Both are involved in the pageant this year. Hazel has spent the last year representing Clare at a national level and will discuss the Miss Clare Pageant 2013 – new entrants are sought to take up the role, which will be vacated by Hazel.  The pageant takes place in The Auburn Lodge on Thursday night – March 14th.  From 7pm, there will be exhibitors, including local retailers, performance by Sparks Dance School and Leanne Moore will act as MC.  This year’s judges are Tess Purcell, Stylist and Coast Model Management, Liz Greahy from Stylebible.ie and Mr. Gay Clare Timmy Murphy.
