Therese O’Connell is the Principal of Crusheen National School and let us know about how students from senior infants to 6th class in Crusheen celebrated their back to school mass last Thursday by singing my Lovely Rose of Clare. After seeing the Clare team singing this song in the dressing room with the Liam McCarthy cup the children wanted to learn this song and include it in the school mass.  Therese spoke about how the kids in the area have been inspired by the Clare hurlers and wanted to record this song as a celebration of their achievements.

Kathleen Kelly  from the West Clare Family Resource Centre in Kilrush also spoke to The Afternoon Show about how knitting and crochet is taking off in the area. The FRC in Kilrush has been hosting a knitting and crochet group each Monday afternoon from 2.30 to 4pm  – offering participants a social outlet aswell as an entertaining hobby. All are welcome.
