The Afternoon Show – Tuesday April 15th 2014

On today’s show Máire spoke to Martina Curtin, a native of Kilshanny, who is now based in Boston. Today marks the first year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing. Martina has been living in Boston for years and last year ran the marathon for the first time to mark her 40th birthday. However due to the bombing only reached mile 25. This year she and others from the North Clare area who live in the city are going to run the famous event – in solidarity with those who were affected on that fateful day.

Celia Holman Lee, a former Model and founder of the Holman Lee Modelling Agency in Limerick was also a guest of the show and talked about how her modelling agency comes to Killaloe next Wednesday April 23rd for a fashion extravaganza as part of the Brian Boru on the Hill Music festival. Local boutiques from Killaloe, Ballina, Nenagh and Limerick will showcase this year’s trends. Check out brianborumusicfest.com for further details.
