On the show today Maeve Ryan, the Service Co-ordinator of the Crime Victim Helpline talked about how  – for some people Christmas can be a difficult time depending on one’s circumstances and recent life events.  The emotional effects of difficult events that have occurred during the year can re-emerge during holiday time, and this applies also to people who have been victims of crime.  After the Christmas rush is over, people may feel they would like to deal with the issues that arose for them during the year. The Crime Victims Helpline will be open every day between 2 and 4p.m. during the holiday season. (From Xmas Eve to New Years Day included) The National Helpline number is Free Phone 116 006. The number for texts is 085 1337711
