On today’s programme Máire spoke to Guidance Counsellor and Education Columnist with the Irish Times Brian Mooney about how students are following the jobs when it comes to choosing college courses. CAO applications this year have seen a rise in demand for computing, engineering and business degrees. There's also been a surge in interest in construction related courses, architecture and agriculture. Brian says students are looking at where employment opportunities are likely to be, but warned against choosing courses based solely on job potential.

John Concannon from Failte Ireland joined Máire to talk about “Ireland Inspires”. "St Patrick's Day 2014 #IrelandInspires" is an animated postcard showcasing Ireland's strengths and highlighting the qualities that make this country a great place to be. It will be played for audiences gathering at Irish Embassy events across the globe this St Patrick's Day and is tailored to appeal to visitors, investors and those attracted to the type of energy, creativity and potential which this nation can offer.

Patsy Ricks from the Courthouse Gallery in Ennistymon also let us know about the many exhibitions and events taking place over the coming days. CRANK – an exhibition of paintings by Dublin born artist Peter Dunne runs from March 14 – April 5 and is opening Friday at 7pm. Also this weekend on – they’re exhibiting works by Ailbhe Barrett and Joan Sugrue. Also for something a little different – HAPPY a 2011 feature documentary (film directed, written, and co-produced by Academy Award nominated film-maker Roko Belic) will be shown. It explores human happiness through interviews with people from all walks of life in 14 different countries, weaving in the newest findings of positive psychology. Showing at the Courthouse on Wednesday 19th March from 6.00-7.45pm and Thursday 20th March from 10.00-12.30pm
