Comedian Tommy Tiernan was Gavin Grace’s guest on The Today Show this afternoon.  Tommy is en route to the Banner County for a number of performances.  According to him “of all the outlaw counties that we have produced there is none where the air is as fresh, the light so mighty and the music as wild as in Clare. The lunacy seems effortless and natural”. Living in the west for the past twenty years and seeing the county every day from his house, Tommy believes Clare has always belonged more in Connaught than Munster and this World Tour is he hopes only a prelude to an invasion to steal the county back. Tommy’s “World Tour of Clare” includes the following dates; 21st June Lakeside Hotel, Killaloe, 22nd June, Oakwood Arms Hotel, Shannon, 23rd June at The Pavilion, Lisdoonvarna, 24th June   Armada Hotel, Spanish Point, 28th June   Stella Maris Hotel, Kilkee, 29th June at the West County Hotel, Ennis and 30th June Bunratty Castle Hotel.

Jenny Walsh Bassett is the Theatre Manager with Culturlann Sweeney Kilkee.  She spoke to Gavin about the line up of free music events to celebrate Love:Live Music day in West Clare.  Love:live music is an associate of Fete de la Musique (International Music Day), celebrated in 120 countries worldwide on Midsummers day June 21st, 2012.
