On today’s Show Sixmilebridge Parish Priest, Fr. Harry Bohan and Fr. Donagh O’Meara, Parish Priest of Ogonnelloe discussed suicide with Gavin Grace as part of The Today Show coverage on Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. Gavin Grace spoke with the two leading clergymen in Clare about their views and their roles in relation to the issue.  They discuss the impact it has on society, on the local community and the family. Gearoid Mannion of Tom Mannion Travel Worldchoice joined The Today Show for his weekly travel feature.  Today he focussed on the Spanish Islands including Majorca, Minorca and Ibiza in the Balearics, the Canary Islands, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria.  He also discussed car hire and getting off the beaten track.

Caroline Loughnane is the Director of Marketing and Communications at NUI Galway. She spoke to Gavin Grace about how over 3,000 prospective students and their parents from across Ireland are expected to attend NUI Galway’s Spring Open Day on Saturday, 28th April. Tailored towards Leaving Certificate and mature students interested in studying at NUI Galway, the Open Day will give the opportunity for students, along with their parents and families, to sample university life at NUI Galway.

Hazel McMahon, newly crowned Miss Clare 2012, joined Gavin in studio to discuss her bid for the Miss Ireland title this weekend. Miss Ireland 2012 will be crowned this weekend over a 3 day competition in Dublin – Hazel, who won out the Miss Clare heat in February, will represent the Banner county. Hazel is also participating in the Miss Photogenic part of the competition.  The public can support her by voting – please go to www.miss-ireland.ie/vote, scroll to the bottom left hand side of the page and click on Hazel McMahon – Miss Clare, then click “Vote”.  You can vote once a day until Friday April 28th and if she wins this she’s guaranteed a place in the top 15.

Also on today’s show we heard from Philip Moreau, a Horticulturist from Tuamgraney.  Philip will join us each Tuesday afternoon to give you gardening advice.
