Over 50% of all NCTs in Ennis last year failed with 2,925 cars failing dangerously.
Data from the National Car Testing Service shows that Clare’s only NCT centre had the 11th highest total number of ‘dangerous fails’ in the country last year.
There were 35,029 cars, vans and other forms of transport tested in total in the county with only 16,900 or 48% of the vehicles passing.
The average wait time for an NCT in Clare is currently 17 weeks which is the 16th longest of the 50 test centres in the country.
