Pieta House says the announcement of additional Government funding will help safeguard the future of the service.

The Government has announced over 114,600 euro a month in additional funding for the mental health charity, to help it through its current funding crisis, which saw staff being let go and pay cuts of up to 30% for remaining workers.

The cash injection is on top of the 2.03 million euro in funding already provided by the state and will be reviewed on a monthly basis.

Funding and Advocacy Regional Manager with Pieta House, Tom McEvoy has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that it will allow for an additional 300 hours of high-risk therapy for clients.
