Calls For Employment Assurances For Shannon Iceland Workers

Concern is being expressed for the future employment of staff at a Shannon supermarket.

It follows a directive issued by Food Saftey Ireland demanding the immediate recall of all imported animal frozen food products at Iceland stores nationwide.

In the wake of the recall, employees at outlets in both Cork & Dublin have reported fluctuations in weekly wages, as well as non-receipt of payslips, annual leave and holiday entitlements.

Interim General Secretary of the Independent Workers Union , Jamie Murphy says staff in Shannon need urgent assurances.
