Clare employers are being urged to offer equal opportunities to men and women to address.

A new CSO analysis of the most recent Census data has revealed than in Clare, men earn over 17% more than women annually on average.

The findings have also highlighted that on a national level, women make up just 25% of employments in the top 1% of earnings.

Ennis Chamber CEO Margaret O’Brien says Ireland needs to get in line with other European countries so that men and women have the same employment opportunities.
