A Clare Independent TD has criticised the ‘disgraceful’ waiting times facing learner drivers in this county.
The earliest available test date for budding motorists here is currently 13 weeks away in Shannon, 19 weeks in Ennis and 24 weeks in Kilrush.
The Department of Transport meanwhile predicts that it will take until June 2024 at least to recruit enough testers to restore the national standard wait time of ten weeks.
Kilrush Deputy Violet Anne Wynne says the predicament is already having a serious impact on the lives of constituents.
