The manager of the defending TUS Clare senior football champions is praising the character his side showed in overturning a four point second half deficit to claim a draw with Ennistymon.

Seven points for Cathal McInerney helped Cratloe earn a share of the spoils, with the result being enough to see the holders safely through to the last eight with a round to spare.

It also means that Ennistymon and Miltown are now qualified from Group Three, with Doonbeg set to be involved in the relegation battle.

Meanwhile Eire Óg manager Paul Madden says it was important his side didn’t lose focus in how they approached their second round tie

A comprehensive win for the Townies over Kilmihil guarantees their progression from the group, and they will claim top spot if they can overcome Lissycasey in two weeks time.

Madden says while they came into the game as heavy favourites, it was vital that didn’t seep into their mindset.
