County Council Confident Clare Can Be National Leader On Climate Action

The local authority claim that a new strategy will consolidate Clare as a national leader in sustainability.

The Draft Climate Action Plan for 2024-2029 which has just been published will aim to halve greenhouse gas emissions here by the end of the decade, while also increasing green energy output by 50%.

The project was formulated with extensive stakeholder engagement and received 283 public submissions between May and June of this year alone.

Climate Action Co-Ordinator with Clare County Council Morgan Lahiff says that major developments are in the pipeline.
