More Than €180K Spent By SVP Helping Clare Families In Fuel Poverty Last Year

More than €180,000 was spent by the Clare branch of St Vincent DePaul on helping families experiencing fuel poverty in this county last year.

€157,000 went towards directly supplying fuel to families, with around 26,000 distributed by way of hardship funds.

The President of the Clare branch of SVP says people on low incomes are having to spend up to 30% of their income on heating their homes, due to the large number of homes in the county with F and G BER ratings.
