Ongoing water supply interruptions in Ennistymon and surrounding areas have been described as “scandalous”.
It’s now over a month since homes and businesses served by the Ennistymon Public Water Scheme first began to experience a foul taste, brown colour and a mould-like odour in their drinking water.
The last statement issued by Uisce Éireann on the matter was three weeks ago on August 8th when the water utility claimed “all chemical and biological results are compliant with legislative requirements” but advised customers not to drink discoloured water.
Ennistymon Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty says Uisce Éireann has once again proved to be difficult to communicate with and get answers from.
