The Mayor of Ennis has hit out at the culprits behind the recent vandalism of the River Fergus walkway.

Signage at the walkway was graffitied with crude imagery and will require specialist equipment to remove, while bollards at the greenway were also damaged when a car reversed into them.

Clare County Council and local volunteers in Clarecastle undertook a clean-up operation to remove the debris which was left behind.

Ennis Fianna Fáil Councillor Clare Colleran Molloy is reassuring that those responsible will be held to account.
