A Shannon woman is striving to spread awareness of an extremely rare and life threatening autoimmune condition.
Last February, 21 Year-Old Lynsey Prenderville was diagnosed with Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) which caused her body to attack normal cells predominantly in the spine, eyes and brain.
Lynsey’s condition has seen her admitted to ICU after temporarily losing her sight, hearing and ability to walk and she now requires a mobility aid and constant pain medication while on her road to recovery.
She says further awareness of the seriousness of the condition is urgently needed.
